This is what I was saying about Fine Gardening, Donna.  The articles have been "dumbed down" to the amateur/beginner/weekend gardener.  Of course if it were my publication I might do the same if it increased readership and/or advertising.  They're in the business to maximize profit after all.

But I like the magazines that offer at least SOME more specialized articles. The RHS magazine is great for detailed articles on single genera.  Fine Gardening used to have these kinds of articles too. Horticulture sometimes does.

By the way, if anyone is interested in plant propagation, run to the bookstore for Ken Druse's new book, Making More Plants.  He details lots of interesting techniques, many of which I think he invented/discovered on his own.  And he took all of the photos himself, I think over 700 in this book.  Look at the ones which show his two hands doing some procedure and ask how he also took the photo. No, I'm not related to Ken.
