Ahh, Doug, what I neglected to mention is that I only mow my grass when I have time to, given the couple of acres I have to maintain, and it is often 3-4" tall at that point. I remove the clippings so that the cut grass doesn't smother to death, plus it looks like heck if I don't. But I'd agree with everything you said about grass if I mowed it when I was supposed to.
