Re: Why plants die


That's about my favorite gardening poem, Sophie...and true as true
can be!  Plant Delights published it on the back of one of their
catalogs a few years ago, too.  And, you're also right about
Charlesworth's books - some of my favorite 'reads'.

I always figure that if I obtain a plant that appears to be healthy
and growing strongly, and it dies, it's my fault and certainly not
the nursery's.  Now, if it arrives DOA or is some weezly, mingy
little thing, that's a whole 'nother issue.  But, what some people
expect to get refunds for just passeth all understanding; people do
the strangest things...with some of them ya' gotta wonder how they
manage to get out of bed by themselves in the morning and make it
safely back at night, their loads are shy so many bricks..
