Re: Hardiness of Begonia grandis 'Alba'?

Gene,

I bought a B. sinensis from Heronswood a few yesrs back. It was a small plant with small leaves and pink flowers. I left it in a pot during the summer back in a plastic greenhouse. Needless to say it got lost in the shuffle. The next year I saw coming up from the ground near the edge of the bench a small colony of what resembled pink B. grandis I wonder if these could actually be B. sinensis. I could not tell much difference except the leaves were slightly smaller. I don't remember having any pink flower B grandis.

BTW have you or anyone else tried any of the hardier? altroemerias, such as "Laura". I have a few plants which I purchased last summer. They are in the greenhouse now overwintering.
