===>Polish Spirit is also an extremely vigorous viticella--purple. I have two
that grew to the top of a split-rail fence and then made a massive ball of
plant there, full of bloom every late spring/early summer. I never prune
them.
Another grows up the downspout (with the original help of a few ties) of the
8-foot downspout of the barn--it reached the shingled roof and made a huge
mass there. Again, never pruned--this one is also in a very damp spot, total
shade until it hits the top and sees the roof.
