Hi Don,
What a beautiful plant! I see it is listed (picture on rareflora.com) as a
4' shrub. How big is yours?
Actually, a mere 12 inches high, Marilyn. See photo link: http://home.wi.rr.com/llmen/juanulloaplant.jpg
It seems to be flowering at the growing tips, then branching. If it anything like most of it's solanaceous kin, it should be fairly easy to root (inquire this summer). I have been keeping it in the conservatory room, with the temps varying from the upper 50's at nite to the upper 60's or near 70 on sunny mornings. It's described as being semi-epiphytic in nature and mine seems to be happy in a well drained potting mixI know nothing about it, but am very interested. I assume you have a warm place (a light garden, glass house, atrium) to grow this? Yours looks so healthy.
Do you know which species this is? My internet search turned up hundreds of folks named "Correa"! They look very interesting.
Correa 'Mission Bells' (2x2') - both in containers on the deck. They would be very nice
specimens for an atrium or glasshouse in cold climates. They seem to bloom
no matter what.
That's right, many of you folks on West Coast are having a "winter that wasn't".We are not huddled by the fire here (it has been 50-60F for a couple ofweeks now) but it is one of th ose dark, gray rainy days that makes me want to huddle inside to keep dry.
