I'm in zone 5, northern Michigan. I have sandy, well-draining soil, and
have not ever lost a lavendar to winter weather - I've had some
occasional partial dieback. I don't do anything to protect them. We get
a reasonable amount of snow, but do not always have snow cover when a
real cold snap arrives. My plants are so old (15+ years) that I don't
remember the variety - and they are getting pretty woody - need to start
some new babies from cuttings in the spring.
