RE: Overwintering Lavender, please?


There must be a big difference in the jump from Zone 5 to Zone 4. If you
read (who doesn't) the perennial and fruit tree catalogs, there seems to
be a ton of plants and fruit trees which have a limit of Zone 5!
Frustrating for us in Zone 4. 
These last few winters have been unusually mild here, but all it takes
is for one "normal" winter and I can say goodbye to several things -
like my started-from-seed buddleias. I know Paul is right about avoiding
the wetness, but this is would be difficult. I need that mythical staff
of under-gardeners to build some raised beds!
I think I will try lavenders again and try the burying technique.
