I fear it is a virus.  The blooms were a little bit twisted this fall but since the bulbs were up on top of ground ( a good grower) I thought they just needed dividing but then the foliage is not looking good.  Then I looked at the rest of the plants around the bulbs yesterday.  Need to get rid of the bulbs and monkey grass but can't believe all those genera would be having the same virus.

Hi Nancy,
Which Lycoris is this?  I'm only familiar with the ones that put out foliage in the spring, then go dormant and bloom in late summer.
I went out and checked my Liriope and didn't see anything like this on it. Nor have I ever seen any sign of a pest or disease on the few hollies I've had.

It looks like a bit like a virus to me, but not necessarily.  It could just be winter damage?  I don't know.  What is it that you think it is?

If I saw that here at this time of year, I wouldn't think much about it.  I'd wait for the upcoming growing season and see what it does then.

MOBOT:  Good sanitation practices are the most important component of any disease/insect control program: promptly remove and destroy diseased foliage/rhizomes and perform an annual clean-up of all debris and foliage from beds in fall after frost.

Hoping this is not what I think it is on my clumps of lycoris.  The lipriope kinds looks the same and the holly leaves are pitiful too.  What shall I do?  Send to dump? or just feed and hope for the best.
