Dear Ginny,
Most Grasses really need to be divided every four or five years, that's
especially true of the larger ones like Miscanthus sinensis or
floridulus, Erianthus ravennae, Cortaderia selloana, and Calamagrostis.
Otherwise they tend to hollow out and to be weak and fall over. So it is
not the placement that can solve the problem.
