Ginny:
I have a half circular bed with rocks around as a border. Inside the rocks
I have Indian carpet dianthus, then the blood grass, then the elephant
ears. It is quite beautiful most of the summer. Last year the deer came and
ate most of the dianthus and I figured it wouldn't come back as they ate it
right down to the ground level, however, back it came and bloomed it's
heart out. Behind the elephant ear I have a path which curves around and on
the other of the path is Siberian Iris, hosta and I usually plant a shade
annual along the path, too. The area gets only a little morning sun and the
soil has a lot of clay and is very acid as there are about 5, 80 foot
pines growing behind it. It is only about 10 feet from the house on the
east side and slightly north so it does get a little sun. I have blood
grass planted in another bed in the semi-shade which also grows nicely. I
have never planted it in full sun but plant to try it this year. Enjoy your
comments on the list. Jean
