Re: Rescued furniture

Sheila ---
There's nothing wrong with dumpster diving. There was a time in my youth,
right after we got married and set up housekeeping, when it was a favorite
pasttime. Some of our favorite family furniture was rescued from the side
of the road during Spring Clean-Up week. The "collecting" was especially
good in the upscale neighborhoods. I am told that Embassy / consulate
neighborhoods are also prime salvaging territories when there is a change
in power structures.

These pieces may take a little repair or refinishing, but it can be well
worth it.

Just to keep it on a horticultural line of thought, you will also find
overgrown plants, pots, trimmings, etc.
