Re: Plant feelings -Reply

I have tried not to comment on this issue but I just cannot stand by any
longer. There are many companies out there besides Wal-Mart that are
quilty of poor plant care. Most of them are discount volume stores for
which plants are just a small part of thier business. For the most part
they price their plants extremely low to insure a quick turn or what they
call a loss leader. The sales people are usually poorly or marginally
trained in plants and plant care. One day they are taking care of plants
and the next feeding gold fish. This is and buying in extremely large
quaintities is how they keep their prices low. It is just a small part
of their overall businees.

What can we do? Buy your plants from businesses where plants are their
main or preferably only business. You will find them more knowledgable,
helpful, and get better quality plants. These people can answer your
questions since this is all they deal with, they did not just get sent
over from the shoe department. They also know how to care for plants and
probably really care and appreciate them.

So if you want to do something positive buy your plants from a
professional nursery. Sorry for the crusade but I care about quality
plants also.
