Mexican Sage-hardiness?


I live in Southern Indiana, zone 6/6a.  I am interested in growing
Mexican Sage, but I understand it is hardy only to zone 7.  For those of you
who grow this plant, what zone are you in?  Do you think it would have a
long
enough season in my zone, even if I opted to treat it as a tender perennial?
