deer are like people--not all have the same taste in food.
I grow about 120 diffrent Hosta and the ones the deer will eat are the
"Honeybells" and the tops of the "royal standard" just before they
flower--they do not eat any of my thirty or fourty dollor Hosta 's
thankfully.....this fall they decided to eat some of my tiarella to the
ground. for me deer are only a problem in the ealry spring and late fall.
Its the blasted woodchucks that get me....I am glad I do not have to fight off
the pigs like the prevouse post. There is allwas some one that has it worse
off !!!!
the electric fence works good--run one wire six inches off the ground for the
woodchucks and one five feet off the ground for the deer. most animails
learn about the fence after they hit it once or twice--even dogs are smart
enough to avoid it.
