Forgive me if this has been discussed previously. But we have had a
very strange winter here in SE Michigan. We finally got some snow.
However it was unusually warm and some new iris, allium and grape
hyacinth I planted in late Sep grew to about 5-6" by January. Will they
be ok and grow again in the spring? Thanks for any help Karen

Karen,
Your 'strange winter' may be close to my 'normal, changing conditions'.
We often see bulb foliage at this time of year, but that doesn't seem to
bother blooming very much. Once, the warm spell lasted long enough
to coax the daffodils and some early season tulips into bloom, and
the next cold front froze them. Crocus flowers will occasionally get
frozen out, but there are usually more blooms in a day or two.
