Re: climbing aconictum

I received an error message when I replied to
this, so I am sending this separately. If you get
two, for some reason, I apologize.

Heronswood out of Washington state carries it,
but I think it is like a zone 7 requirement. I've
always wanted to try it, but I'm a 6b, and
haven't risked it yet. Sounds intriguing,
thought, huh? Let me know if you want
Heronswood's info. Excellent catalogue,
fabulous stock, a plain ol' "good read;" he is so
humorous and knowledgeable.

A friend of mine is interested in a climbing
species of Aconite, A volubile
that she saw in an English
catalogue. The catch is that being an English
catalogue it just says the
plant is hardy. I know a lot of aconites will
handle very cold winters,
but what about this one? We are in USDA 4,
and usually have pretty good
snow cover during the worst temperatures. Any
body either grown it or have
it in their reference books?
