I have a large number of agapanthuses (agapanthi?) which grow in medium
shade under elm trees. Every year they flower profusely and put on lots of
seed pods, which I generally leave on the plants for some textural
interest. The seeds generally germinate right where they fall, in filtered
light, when the temperature is in the 70s. I have never tried germinating
them under controlled conditions because they self-seed so easily in situ.
I love these plants - they are drought tolerant and bloom like champs every
year. Hope this helps.
