Alfalfa has in it a chemical that acts like a growth hormone- it's called
triacontanol.
since most people will not be interested in how it works i will leave it at
that.
add 2-3 cups of alfalfa meal to one yard of soil
or
use alfalfa meal or chopped alfalfa hay as a light top dressing to soil around
plants. or soak 5 tablets 500 to 600 mg of compresses alfalfa purcheses from
natral food store in one gallon of water for 24 hours -agitate- then drench
plants. use three to four times a year.
what i do is use a old water softner that is about thirty gallons in voluom
and drop in 25 large alfalfa bricks from the feed stop and let them soak for a
day then strain off the chunks and water my flower pots once in the spring and
again in mid summer--the alfalfa "remanders" i mix into my potting soil.
