Hosta have to be one of the best garden plants.
A nice combination I like is the gold or yellowed leaf Hosta with some of the
marbled purplish leaved Heuchera
even though I do not have the time to worry about what plants look good next
to each other- some combinations have been intriguing.
One was Hieracium villosum with it's large bright yellow dandelion flowers
and silver white wholly leaves mixed in with my clumps of Allium tanguticum
with its nice up right narrow blue-green leaves, a great onion for the garden-
long blooming and does not go dormant in the summer-with twisted leaves. and
showy umbels.
One combination I love is Caulophyllum thalictroides - blue cohosh. shade.
nice plant with tall naked blue green stems and blue green leaves. and
growing under them I like Mitella diphylla - Miterwort. Bright lime green
plant with tall stalks of soft lacy small white flowers and mixed in to this
Maianthemum canadense wild Lilly of the valley. great little plants that in
spring have white flowers above 2-3 round flat spreading leaves.
