I have to tell a tale on my (dumb) self.
Two years ago I bought some Angel's Trumpets (Datura) seeds, started

I Have another dumb tail to tell.
Back when I had more time along time ago I was doing a plant inventory around
the park next to our house-I think the list ended at about 250 plant species
excluding the grasses. I never was to good with the taxonomic keys for
grasses and sedges-Oh well.
One day I was out on my usual walk collecting plant material to bring home so
that I could run it threw the key. I had about six or seven plants in my hand
and came across some small plant that was new( I think it was an Antennaria).
So I put the other plants stem first in my mouth so I could reach down and
collect the plant I still needed.
well one of the plants I collect was a Umbelliferae and as I was walking back
home my mouth started to tingle and my Throat felt like it was closing up
shop.
well when I got back and keyed up the plants-one of the plants I had put in my
mouth was water hemlock. NOT the best plant to put in ones mouth!!!!!
I had a big reaction only to a small amount of contact with that plant.
Needless to say I was a little bit alarmed at the time.
Now I am more careful what plants I will "taste" .
