Truffles -- and a new topic

If those interested would go to www.epicurious.com and type in "truffles"
for the recipe search engine, you'll get way more than you can ask for in
the wonderful world of truffle eating.

Let's start a new topic, shall we?

What does everyone plant with their tulips for spring blooming? I've used
wallflowers, windflowers, and alyssum for fillers before, but I'm curious
as to what everyone else does. If you start these companion plants from
seed, when do you start them in order for them to bloom at the same time as
your tulips? Any suggestions as to what looks good together? I love pale
pink tulips with the strong purples of the grape hyacinths or blue eyes (I
forget the latin name).

I can never seem to get the timing right on the blooms for alyssum. I'm
always too late, it seems. When should you start plugs to get those
suckers to bloom in early May?
