It really makes no sense to do this. It is a kind of compromise between
removing the foliage and not removing it. We try not to remove the
foliage but this is not always practical. Our daffodil foliage has been
known to last into August, although I find this unusual. We were
surprised to see in a separate posting that tulip bulb growers remove the
foliage right after blooming. I could understand somewhat if this was
before the bloom opened. Would like to know more about this.
