Hello Donna...
You might not believe this but we sold several magnolias here in eastern
Canada this year.....both the star and saucer varieties. One might think
that the trick is to plant them in a nice, sunny southern exposure....but
not so... as this starts the buds too early ...and then they really do get
zapped.
I have had two of my daughters go to school in Florida...so we have seen
mags in our journies....Much nicer down your way..
By the way...our provincial flower is the Purple Violet.....Don't know if
I've ever seen one.
