Re: Larkspur and hollyhocks

I have grown Hollyhocks for years and continue to grow them even though
"something" always get to them. Last year on my "Barnyard Mix" I had Hollyhock
weevils. Very few buds survived long enough to bloom. But I continue to grow
them. I planted "Fig" Hollyhock last year from seed. Hopefully, they will take
off this year. 
I do not use pesticides on any of my plants. But this year, I am going to buy
Safer, or some similar type brand to see if I can combat some of the problems.
The leaves also get eaten in a lace pattern. By the end of the season though,
the plant looks great! Of course, then all the weevils, Japanese beetles are
gone and the plant is getting ready to go to sleep!
