Re: Labels

One observation about labels, whether using a p-touch (I did), ordinary Avery
see-through labels and a mail-merge program (don't use the easy-to-peel
type), or a special machine: I have observed this week that my p-touch labels
which looked so good and are now going into their second spring, are in mixed
condition. What nobody has mentioned is that position is a factor in how long
they last. The ones I have facing east (toward the morning sun) are very very
faded in less than two years. The ones facing west (and toward a forest so
they don't get full sun) are still very readable. Seems obvious, doesn't it?
But I didn't think of it.

If you have to replace labels every couple of years, I think the ideal is a
mail-merge program so you can print on Avery labels from your plant list. I
use Word's mail merge function and it can be tricky the first time, but once
you master it it is a snap.
