Re: Inside news

Does anyone seriously think that Burpee would buy a business like
Heronswood just to turn it into a "marigold and zuccini" distribution
center?

There's a lot of generalized stereotyping going on here. "Big
corporation" does not necessarily mean "bad." "Small, family-owned"
does not necessarily mean "good" or even "quality."

Let's remember the guys have gone willingly into this arrangement. They
weren't bought out in an ugly corporate takeover or threatened by the
"mob." If they worked with their lawyers and made sure everything they
wanted was in the paperwork before signing anything -- none of those
naive handshake agreements -- then everything will happen exactly as Dan
outlines in his letter and the world will have more access to Heronswood
plants than ever before.
