Georgia,
if you like coreopsis 'Moonbeam' like me, you may want to try the pink and
the white versions. Same foliage, different color. Bluestone Perennials
carries the white, coreopsis 'Alba', and also the pink, coreopsis rosea
'American Dream'. They have a web site, www.bluestoneperennials.com or
call at 800-852-5243. They have a sale going on that if you purchase two
three-packs, you get another three-pack free. The 'Alba' is 3 @ 8.25 and
the 'American Dream' is 3 @ 9.25.
In my part of the world, coreopsis mahogany is not a perennial. I remember
seeing the seed featured in Thompson & Morgan a couple of seasons back when
the plant was first mentioned on this list. I searched high and low for
plants and the closest thing was the seed. After seeing that it wasn't
hardy here, I didn't try it. I may yet again, as I'm wondering how it
would look in a pot with dark-leaved coleus, the 'Blackie' sweet potato
vine, and the silver of an artemisia...
