Hello,
I have been following this discussion and will add that I cut back my sedum
AUTUMN JOY in early June. I think this is its third year. I had alot of
trouble with it last year. It's lower leaves turned yellow and fell off. It
also flopped all over and was difficult to stake up, so I decided to cut
back this year to see what happens. I had read in Alan Armitage's book that
he cuts his back by half in early summer. He is in zone 8 and I am in 7b,
so we are virtually in the same zone. It recovered quickly and although not
as tall as others around here that I have seen, it has buds coming. It
probably will flower later, but at least it is not falling down!
