Adenophera

I have been following this thread with some interest. I have three
plants of A. confusa which I bought from WFF last year. This year they
are 'rosettes' of foliage (actually one has a very slim and short flower
spike I am happy to say) and I look forward to them blooming in earnest
next year. I have not grown any other of this genus as yet.

These are listed as being blue, growing in sun or partial shade, average
garden soil, with bloom height at 36-40 inches. Even WFF says they can
spread readily but if you don't want so many spade the excess up.

The subject of "weedy plants" is always good. So far I am of the opinion
that in the majority of cases (not all cases) weediness occurs in
constantly-moist soil condiditons. If you watch, you will see in lots of
books and gardening magazines the authors will sometimes recommend that
you site a particular plant in a dry spot, full sun, or in poor soil.
This recommendation is usually made for plants some consider "weedy" as
a natural method for control.

My favorite perennials are the tall spiky kind; hollyhocks, foxgloves,
delphiniums, campanula pyramidalis, Agastache rugosa 'Blue Fortune',
etc. Hearing about the tall veronicas is interesting and I will also
look into those.

an
Internet search yesterday to find other varieties and came up with nada.
