verbena hastata

I purchased this plant from a home gardener after unsuccessfully trying to
buy a plant from Heronswood. Dan describes it as having white flowers. The
plant I bought has lavender flowers. Does the plant come in both colors?
The plant I have is blooming at 2'. The description of the white was, I
thought, about 5'.
I'm absolutely sure the plant IS NOT verbena bonariensis as I already have
this plant. The flowers are similar but v. hastata grows in spikes (much
like veronica) whereas v. bonarienses has flower clusters at the top of tall
(6'), nearly leafless stems.
Can anyone help?
