RE: Peonies

Gayle,
Peonies are nearly indestructible and very long lived.  Yes they do transplant well, but may not bloom for a year or two after the move.  I have always dug, divided and transplanted my Peonies after they go dormant - usually November here.  The roots can be massive and very woody.  It is a good time to saw them up and eliminate some of the old wood.  Just be careful not to saw into the "eyes" that are next year's flowers and don't plant those eyes deeper than 1-2" below the soil surface.  Here's your chance to double your flower power!

Hi,

Does anyone have tips on transplanting peonies?  Do they transplant well?

Any info greatly appreciated.
