Re: Was Astilbe, now Japanese beetles


We live about 100 miles north of New York City, in zone 5-ish, because
it's the mountains;

this year the japanese beetles didn't show up until about mid July, by
which time almost all of our roses had bloomed and were gone;

I was amazed that this happened, but glad of course.  They're still
around, but they aren't doing the damage they are wont to do to the
roses.
