Hello Claire,
Another "affliction" it is... sigh. Along with a sudden urge to go around
looking for garden sculpture. Now that one is down-right dangerous. We even went
to my brother in law's farm to look at old cast aways that are rusting into
oblivion. Lots of stuff there that goes back to the 30's and 40's in the barns.
I have no bad words for the old editor of the Rock Garden Quarterly.. she was
who and what she was... just I would not submit anything as her filters left
little of the individual writer and personality to show up in the final printed
form. To my eyes everything came out as though she had written the article. Jane
does a good job of making the writer look professional and you still get something
of your own style and content come through.
I have been a member of SIGNA for some years now. Actually beginning to read
the papers now that color has been inserted and the writing has loosened up a bit.
About the only iris I have here are the species. Not a big fan of the showy
bearded iris.
Want to get into the garden this morning before the heat builds. It rained for
us last week and the weeds are once more sprouting where I worked the soil and
planted new goodies.....
