RE: Gunnera as a weed?

Duncan, I was talking to a friend who just returned from a garden tour of
Ireland. He said they are having record rainfall, over 100" already this
year! Gosh Claire....and you thought you had a lot in NY state. :)

Subject:	Gunnera as a weed?

During my trip in Ireland, I knew I was going to see
some type of Gunnera in an establish garden, but I
never expected to see it as a weed. In the Southern
part of Ireland on the Ring of Kerry, it was spotty in
the marshes, but when I was in Clifden, it was
everywhere. Here's a photo of one backyard on a hill.
I could not belive what I was seeing. This was easy a
acre lot full of Gunnera.
