Thank you Duncan for some beautifully scanned pix. I wish I could do that and
have it come out as you do. So clear and perfectly focused on what you want.
On the Gunnera, I too, saw stands of it in water in Ireland. If you go to
Blarney Castle, you can avoid all the baloney about the rock and see a great
garden and trail through Irish forest with great old trees. Just leave the
true blarney alone and go to the gardens. Legends of trolls and wonderful
places for children to enjoy a forest. I don't know of such a place here.
There in the stream was Gunnera in bloom! There were also some blooms
finished and I was sure there were seeds. My nice husband who is athletic
and agile said he could pluck one off by just climbing a few feet up an
overhanging tree. Several of us in our group though that a great idea as
there was enough Gunnera there for all of Ireland.
He fell into the water and I have never heard the end of it. He is still a
willing travel companion and I am happpy he has such a good disposition.
