Hello Cheryl, I have see/heard three of the four. Roger Swain is good, but off the track for me... I am no longer a veggie gardener. Also there is a limit to how much of him I can handle... nothing personal, just he is a bit too loud and too intense with no opportunity for anyone else to participate. I like Felder for his sense of humor and Tony for his enthusiasm. Tony is like a hellfire and brimstone fundamentalist preacher... only it is about plants rather than religion (maybe similar?) He will definitely make a convert of you on all those collectables;-)
Hi Gene,
I found out about Tony Avent upon asking a fellow daylily person, where should a beginner buy hosta. ( I now have about 10 really nice hosta, but not much shade.) I called, spoke to the office and got my first catalog from them and have never looked back. It is the best read of any catalog - I love finding the humor in the names and comments.
Sharon Lovejoy is on the list because of her love of gardening with children, my own gardening avocation. I will consider my life well lived if I have added new gardeners to the world.
Cheryl
