Hello Donna,
Believe what is going on would be referred to as "reducing to a common
dominator" Something everyone can understand. Even those without a lot of
knowledge about the subject on hand. When I wrote freelance for a local
newspaper, we bumped heads over this one. I was instructed to write at a 8th
grade level. Keep it simple and no techie stuff. Also no humor as it is too
easily misinterpreted. Of course, no mentions of sex or religion. That about
wraps it up. Not much to say after all that and then shove it all through
the politically correct funnel.
I no longer write for them.... no anger or resentment... just I would
rather do what I do someplace else.
