Strange Rudbeckia

I've had perennial Rudbeckia self seed in my garden for some years, and quite frankly, I'm not even sure which species I have - probably a mix. Some are pure yellow, others with a brown eye zone. However, this afternoon, I noticed the flower shown in the link below:

There are at least 6 other flowers on the plant that appear the same and the plant itself seems normal enough. At first I thought that the flower had simply not opened fully, but
none of the other Rudbeckia plants that are currently in bloom look like this, even the buds that are just opening.
Suggestions?
Some type of pathology (viral, insect, chemical damage)?
Mutation?
Reversion to some other known type?
Stray seedling of some other type?
Is this something of which I should save seed?
