I have never, under the worst of conditions, seen stachys (lambs ears turn
brown and crispy). In the best of all possible garden worlds, we would all
have some rain each summer and enjoy the labors of spring. Stachys is a
plant that will do better than the invasive artemisias, sometimes rots here
if not drained well enough. Never dies and seeds all around if you don't cut
it down quickly. Yet, it is not native here and in really moist places does
poorly. Stachys is the one plant in the dry gardener's arsenal of very
reliable plants. Chris you need to do a rain dance.
