For some wonderful reason Japanese Beetles do not eat, don't go near the
striped cannas. Is Wyoming a striped foliage canna? I have a big tub of
these with that little rascal Artemesia "Oriental Limelight" to keep it
contained and there is not one JB on the lot. A few other Cannas attract
them and have to be dusted with rotenone to keep them free of JB's. The
rotentone does not kill them but they do not like anything dusted with any
plant dust.
Also agree about Margarita, a very striking plant. Up here it does not start
to grow much until there is a heat spell. Then it starts growing. I have it
in a pot and move it around the garden. Good thing, containers. Like
furniture when you have a bad day, you can go into the garden and move them
around for while for a new look.
