As always you contribute so much to the list that makes such enjoyable
reading, when they talk about tv presenters they could use someone with your
encyclopaedic (not sure thats spelt right) knowledge, its interesting to hear
comments from our 'cousins' about 'BBC gardeners world,' and it would appear
from comments on the list that american programmes 'dumb down' as well, when
a lot of us want thought provoking stuff, not the same advice every year on
how to lay turf! Having said that I like Alan Titchmarsh, however i hear he
is 'retiring' shortly for fresher pastures, and then we'll get some
fresh-faced media youth, trotting out the same text-book advice.
Anyway, got that off my chest, I too have a variegated convallaria ' Vic
Powlevski's Gold' which certainly is not invasive unfortunately as it is a
handsome plant, and as LOTV was my mothers favourite flower, holds some
nostalgia for me, You've worried me a little as i have introduced it to every
garden i've lived in and it never became invasive, but i have visions of 10
years after i've moved LOTV breaking out.
As for the scones thread i'm with Gene you can't beat scones, jam (preferably
strawberry) and cream, clotted for preference, and tea, surrounded by a nice
garden on one of the nice days we get every two weeks!
