We did a trip, similar, returning with some things actually tied on top of
the car. Ed said we looked like a bunch of Oakies and that ended the
overbuying. He must have reached his limit. Walter, you have a way to
go!!!!!

Walter, Leo is a talented propagator. He can get hold of something rare in
the trade and there it will be at Leo's, lots and lots of it. One of the
reasons you don't find some of his (and other's as well) in Phillip/Rix and
other fine books is that they write on plants available to the trade feeling
that descriptions of plants you cannot actually buy are not fair reading.
The new plants on the market arrive much quicker than the books are updated
unfortunately.
I have never gone to Carlisle and come home without a bunch of challenges.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
<<<<<Anyway the second plant that intrigues me is "Sinacalia tangutica".
Obvously
a spreader ....some called it Ligularia tangutica. In my newly acquired
Phillipos and Rix, Perennials it doesn't say much, though it was
apparently
also callled Senecio tanguticas. Does anyone.......maybe 500 of ya'll out
there......have any experience with Sinaclia tangutica?>>>>>
Senecio tanguticas is listed in Hortus 3 which allegedly has all plants
growing in the US when it was published which was a long time ago. Says from
China. 3 feet high and panicles of yellow flowers. I guess you will have to
keep notes and inform us.
<<<Walter in Bucks County, Pa; drought capital of the east >>>
By now you may have cured your drought, we got rained on here for the third
day in a row and this one was the worst. Donder and Blitzen and blew the
modem out of the computer again. I can do the exchange myself now, it
happens so often. You buy a lifetime guarantee modem here. I keep a spare
but was in Staples for another reason and modems were leaving the store one
by one in the line. Lots of unhappy faces.
