I know we went through this one last year about this time, but we
purchased 3 Crocosmia at two different nurseries last spring and planted
them in JoAn's raised beds. Not a one made a return visit this spring. All
rotted during winter. Can not seem to hold our mouths right on this one. We
both like the plants, but can not keep them.

Gene: Do you only desire Lucifer or are you willing just to try any ole
Crocosmia and keep it alive?? I just received my first start of Lucifer so I
don't quite have enought of that one to share but I have plenty of the more
common orange variety if you would like to give it a try.

A gardening friend in Louisiana was to send me some Byzantine Glads last
summer - and with the best of intentions, I received my package of corns last
June. To my surprise, the pink Glads bloomed just like an orange croscosmia
this year - a pretty orange but definetely NOT the color I was expecting. So
I have extra to share.

Say the word and they are in the mail to you. I could not begin to give you
advice on how to keep these guys alive in your area but I do have a friend in
Wash DC who grows these and they thrive.......I'm not sure if the two areas
have similar growing conditions but I could certainly ask her.

Kemberly - who has her first "golden" Crocomia in bloom. A purple perilla
reseeded just behind the plant and the color combo seems to work.
