Well, I can't stand it any longer. A portion of my front garden in this new house is so ugly I can't ignore it any more. I planned on doing something next spring, but I don't have the willpower to wait that long. I'll just have to add this area to the rest of the stuff for this years efforts.
I NEED HELP! This section is only about 4' deep by 12' wide, and is on the southern side of the house with a bit of a west cant to it. About 10-12 feet in front of the garden of it are 1 large, mature, maple and 2 large mature Pines of some sort. It gets a bit of late afternoon sun, but not much at all. I have a healthy Sum & Substance hosta that I moved from my old house that I put in there, and there is a Euonymus of some sort there as well. Plus a couple of sad looking ferns and a few other bits that I inherited. I'm going to tear out everything except the Hosta and perhaps the Euonymus and I need suggestions for this kind of location. I'd dearly love to find something that are evergreen, and also some varigation to lighten up the area.
Besides plants are starting to go on sale...thats how I plan to justify this!
Any help you guys can give will lighten the load!
Thanks,
Lillian, Zone 5
