Could you put Copper end caps on them?
Or those plastic thingys that go on the legs of furniture . . .
Another thought: They actually make "caps" to fit over the ends of
rebar for use in the construction trades. Unfortunately, they seem
to be predominantly day-glow orange for high visibility.
