Beauty Bush

Boy do I need help. I planted a Kolkwitzia amabilis "Pink Cloud". The first spring I left it alone, figuring it was young and should just rest. Second spring I pruned it (know now I shouldn't have) This spring I left it alone, and got lovely arching branches coming out of the circle of new growth from last years pruning. However, not a sign of a bud this spring at all. Do I just have to be patient or should I be doing something else. I like the form but sure would like some bloom.
Daylilies this year have an amazing number of buds, especially one called "Barbara Frum" I got from We're in the Hayfield Now. Colour is amazing! And my Lewisia "Little Plum" have finally stopped blooming this week. They've been in bloom since late May. What an amazing bloom length!

Any suggestions for my Beauty Bush?

Thanks,
Lillian, Zone 5
