Re: Beauty Bush


Be patient; yours is a young plant.  They bloom on old wood.  I've
had one for close to 30 years.  The only pruning I do is to remove
dead wood and sometimes new growth when it overtops the blooms and
gets on my nerves.  Mine blooms reliably in a good deal of shade, but
would probably be even more profuse if it could have all the sun it
wants.

When I prune, I take the branch back to a main stem because just
heading back gives you new growth that comes out horizontal to the
stem you cut; looks odd to me and spoils the form.
