Re: Daylilies & Clematis

So what do you figure the life span is on daylilies? I have 3 that are a good
15 years old - have divided them fairly regularly, but they aren't producing
the way they were. They just have that "tired" look. Soil is fine. Wonder if
they're just getting old.

lift and divide and rework the soil. After 15 years, the soil could be tapped out. I really divide them down to 3-4 fans and work in new compost etc...

Got a couple of Clematis recta's - one late last year ("Serious Black") , and
one this year. Love the blooms - one was really very showy. May have
discovered another addiction. Of course it doesn't take much.

I got my first ever clematis bloom this year. I bought one from the discount rack at Lowes late last summer, planted it and crossed my fingers

We plan on moving this fall so have potted up some of the stuff I'm going to
take. One of my Epimediums looks better in the pot than its looked for years!

I hear you about being happy in the pot!

I've been having fun visiting my local Starbucks, getting cup of coffee and raiding the "Grounds for your Garden" pail. Last week I scored 25 pounds of grounds.
