Kate, There are so many lovely Alliums. Some of my favorites are what I call the firecracker alliums because they bloom on the 4th of July and look like little fireworks. These are Allium flavum, Allium carinatum ssp pulchellum and Allium carinatum ssp pulchellum f. album.I am in northeast Indiana and the rain just keeps coming this year. Weâve had flooding, though my location is reasonably high so Iâm ok. Still I have areas that are too wet to plant. They just start to dry out and another wave of rain hits. Itâs frustrating.KittyFrom: owner-perennials@hort.net [mailto:owner-perennials@hort.net] On Behalf Of Kate Harrison I would love to grow some large tall globe Alliums. It seems to have been a bad year for some plants. Late Spring, wet summer except for three weeks here. In Lancashire.
